The Filth and the Fury

A mysterious package arrives, return address: 'Lando Calrissian'. Once open, it's understood that the talented artist I met in NYC Halloween 2k7, Kostas Seremetis was the true mastermind behind this cannibalized toy creation! Why it was sent, why why why? At this point it's still unclear, but the fact he decided to send it to me is like listening to both the Rocky and Karate Kid theme-songs at once. Permission granted to post these images. Enjoy my good friends, enjoy.

Thrash Detective

It's been ages since I've watched the video for 'Institutionalized'. I just now noticed that the actor that plays Mike Muir's Dad in the video is none other than Jack Nance? (Eraserhead, Twin Peaks, Meatballs 4 (haha)). I don't care how many times I hear this song it still gets the heart pumping.

Hiro Grim

I am sad to hear Japanese artist Hiro Grim passed away at 35. Admittedly, I am new to his work, but I was very impressed by his stark black and white illustrations and cool hand lettering. R.I.P.

New Skateboard Graphics Collection

The cover for Foundation's epic skate film 'Cataclysmic Abyss' was split in two for 2 limited skateboard decks in 2007. To my surprise, they were featured in a new book on skateboard graphics.

A friend sent me this video clip of Foundation Pro Gareth Stehr speaking from the shadows about the evolution of the Cataclysmic Abyss. Figured now is a good time to post it. I didn't know he drew the original logo:

NYCC Last Words

NY Comicon was a rewarding and memorable trip! I've made some friends in the short time I've been working on vinyl toys and it was a pleasure to meet up direct. A handful of toy enthusiasts even flew in from all over the globe! Thanks so much to everyone who made this a great event for us. Extreme thanks go to Rumble Monsters, Toy Tokyo, Secret Base and of course Pushead & the Skeletal Crew!! The response has been amazing and thanks to Vinyl Pulse, ToyCyte, Hateball/Mishka for getting the word out on the internerds. Sorry if I accidentally forgot anything...

The Bop Dragon / Mini Damnedron sets came packed in a clear hand-paint bucket with a special mini-giclee in back. Here is a photo of the first NYCC Duo Set:

I also came home with a small amount of quality loot from the convention which I will post later.

Brian E. we love you.
